NHRA Memphis Qualifying - Saturday

Spencer Massey and the U. S. Smokeless/United Association dragster qualified in the No. 6 position for Sunday's elimination round at the O'Reilly Midsouth Nationals at Memphis.
Massey entered the final day of qualifying in the sixth spot based on his Q2 lap Friday night of 3.869/306mph. Saturday's action started with Massey's Q3 lap of 4.419/183 mph, which kept him No. 6. The final, Q4 session resulted in a pass of 3.964/306 mph to solidify the No. 6 spot and an opening round matchup on Sunday with No. 11 Bob Vandergriff.
The meeting will be a rematch of last weekend's opening round pairing in Dallas, which saw Rookie of the Year candidate Massey, defeat part-time racer Vandergriff, on a holeshot.
Larry Dixon was the No. 1 qualifier (3.810) in Memphis and Clay Millican set the field in the No. 16 spot (3.957).
Sunday's opening round of eliminations is scheduled for an 11:00 AM CT start.
